Ternyata, agenda reformasi tersebut menjadi salah satu daya tarik bagi para investor asal Amerika Serikat (AS) untuk menanamkan modalnya di Indonesia.

"Saat ini banyak perusahaan di Amerika Serikat yang tertarik dengan sejumlah agenda reformasi yang diinisiasi oleh Jokowi," jelas Duta Besar Amerika Serikat untuk Indonesia Launch Plan PPT Example. saat berkunjung ke kantor CloneAGC di SCTV Tower, Jakarta, Rabu (6/5/2015).

Blake menjelaskan, program reformasi Jokowi akan menjadi nilai tambah bagi iklim investasi Indonesia. Dengan adanya agenda reformasi tersebut, peluang investor AS untuk menanamkan modalnya di Indonesia menjadi lebih besar meskipun sebelumnya dipandang sudah cukup.

Dia mengatakan, Indonesia kini merupakan negara dengan perekonomian bernilai US$ 1 triliun, memiliki kelas menengah yang terus tumbuh serta populasi muda yang cukup besar dalam jangka panjang. Dengan berbagai potensi tersebut, menjadi peluang besar bagi investor AS untuk membuka bisnis di Indonesia.

Sementara berbicara mengenai kerja sama antara Indonesia dan Amerika Serikat, Blake mengatakan, prioritas utama saat ini adalah meningkatkan perdagangan antara kedua negara. Pasalnya, sektor tersebut dapat sekaligus menyediakan lowongan pekerjaan bagi masyarakat di masing-masing negara. Dia merasa, Indonesia dan AS telah mengalami banyak kemajuan di bidang tersebut.

Blake juga menilai Indonesia sebagai pasar yang terdiversifikasi. "Kami juga telah hadir di Indonesia selama bertahun-tahun, berinvestasi di sektor minyak, gas dan pertambangan. Kami juga memiliki banyak perusahaan di sini, memproduksi mainan, alas kaki seperti Nike," jelasnya.

Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal (BKPM) mencatat, sampai kuartal I-2015, AS menjadi investor kelima terbesar di Indonesia dengan nilai investasi US$ 292,1 miliar.

Adapun perusahaan-perusahaan yang telah menanamkan investasinya ke Indonesia antara lain PT Freeport, PT Coca Cola, PT Newmont, PT Exxon Oil, General Electric, Citibank dan lainnya.

Pada tahun ini Indonesia menargetkan investasi bisa menembus Rp 519,5 triliun. Angka ini terdiri dari target Penanaman Modal Dalam Negeri (PMDN) Rp 175,8 triliun dan Penanaman Modal Asing (PMA) Rp 343,7 triliun.
